Whether it’s the star of the show on a chilly winter evening or a flavorful sidekick to your favorite BBQ dishes, this classic American chili recipe is the ultimate crowd-pleaser. It’s easy to make, packed with bold flavours, and guaranteed to satisfy. So grab your ingredients, roll up your sleeves, and let’s get cooking! ### Ingredients for 4-6 people * 1 Yellow onion (diced) * Garlic cloves (4 -6 cloves, diced) * Tomatoes (1 can, 500 grams, preferable the whole ones) * Kidney beans (1 can, 500 gram) * Corn (1 can, 500 grams) * 1 paprika * Minced meat (500 grams, beef or pork) * Chorizo (100 grams, diced) * Tomato paste (1 can, 50 grams) * Cilantro seeds (1 teaspoon) * Paprika powder (4 teaspoons) * Chilli flakes (1- 2 teaspoons) * Cumin seeds (2 teaspoons) * Salt & pepper to taste * Olive oil > [!tip] > Add your additional fixings and really finish off this delicious recipe such as: > * A dollop of sour cream or greek yoghurt > * Grated cheese (gouda or cheddar) > * Fresh chopped spring onions > * Fresh chopped cilantro > * Diced avocado > * A few dashes of tabasco ### Instructions for the Chili 1. In a large pot heat up the cilantro seeds, cumin seeds and chilli flakes in olive oil to get the flavours going for about 4 minutes on medium heat. 3. Add the diced yellow onion and garlic to the pan. The onion should be softening up a bit. 4. Add the minced beef and let it brown on the edges to get some extra flavour. 6. Add the tomato paste and paprika powder to it all and mix well. 7. In a separate bowl mash your whole tomatoes and add to the pan. 8. Chop up your chorizo in rough big pieces and add to the pan. This is going to give the chili some nice smokey flavour. 9. Chop the paprika in big pieces and add to the pan 10. Rinse the kidney beans and the corn and add to the pan 11. After adding the kidney beans and the corn salt and pepper to taste 12. Let it simmer for 15-30 minutes and serve with your favourite fixings!
